All day long I have been hearing about the County Clerk in Kentucky who won't issue marriage licenses to gay couples for religious reasons. I assume she is Christian since she is claiming it is against God's law for her to do so. Now she has gone to jail for contempt of court and is apparently aiming to be a martyr for her cause.
My curiosity is aroused here because she isn't following Jesus teaching. When asked about the image of Caesar on a coin, he said, "Give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and give unto God that which is God's. Since the Supreme Court has ruled that same sex marriage is legal, that makes it the law of the land and our government is our Caesar, so it seems to me that she is simply being bigoted and is completely disregarding Jesus teaching while she is breaking the law.
Does anyone else have thoughts on the subject?
