Thoughts anyone? How do you see the 9-year history of the forum? How do you feel about it today? What changes would you like to see being made?

Birthdays are a good time to look back at where we came from, evaluate where we are, and decide what kind of changes we want to make going into the future.
Since the forum is having a birthday today perhaps we can do that for the forum.

Well I am playing hooky at work, something I like about the forum is it takes me away from the humdrum and stress of the job for breaks at Joy Zone! hehe I
used to like to chat, but posting and reading is also fun since I can't do the chatrooms any more except from home. Well I think of Joy Zone/WFF's 9
year stint as signposts along my own journey, as it has evolved and changed a lot...so have I...and yet some essential things really don't ever change. I
like the parts that changed a lot about the forum and I like the parts that haven't changed much at all. It's a good mix of familiarity, familiar
friends, and also the not so familiar and challenging ideas/relationships and those are the growth opportunities this forum provided me with.
The mood here has significantly changed in the year 2009, and I'm happy about it being more open to all perspectives, I feel more free here than ever, it has an easy feeling now, and as my friend Ronflyer says, it's not harshing my mellow. hehehe I liked the thought for the day project. I always have liked the various blog projects. I also enjoyed the Venus Transit diary and the Harmonic concordance one. I love it when people share pretty pictures and their personal stories!!!! The stories that are real are my favorites. And I love when people open up and share what they are going through, whatever it is, I just want to feel like we all can bare our soul with each other here. It's not surface, shallow, chit-chat, although chit-chat is fun too, it's the in-depth really digging in and baring all, that I get into, and helping each other through tough times....and celebrating the good times. It's down to earth and spiritual and in-between, it's the best of everything, and the worst of everything. Hmmm, sounds like that Dickens novel... It's like our books of life are being written in this forum through sharing our paths...I like that about this place. We aren't bickering any more, and I like that. We all seem to have really opened up to just being who we are....and letting others be who they are...without it being any skin off our own back. Just some thoughts today...9 years and 1 day.... White Feather, thank you for hosting this cyberspace gathering place. Love, Barb |

You are welcome, Barb. I love your post. You put things into a great perspective. We all have evolved and changed over the last 9 years so it is only natural that the forum has reflected that. |

We have all evolved as persons but as a group too. And one thing I know for sure we will still be hanging out come december 2012.
Cheers!

No changes necessary from my perspective.
I've been here just a hair over 4 years now. This forum has come a long way. I don't even recognize who I was back when I stumbled upon this place. But I don't even recognize the me of just one year ago, so 4 years ago seems like a past life. I had an old friend contact me late last week, whom I was very connected to during that first year I was here at JoyZone. She made a reference to "Wind Dancer", an old friend of mine. I had not idea what she was talking about. Then it hit me, she was referring to "Windsplitter", a horse spirit friend of mine who was following me around from the other side. It took me back to the days where I had all these guides working with me back then. I couldn't even relate to that part of me. It was fun to tap into all that, but when reflecting within my now, it was as if I was creating pieces of me to help me (re)discover my true essence. "Pretend friends" as I now see them. I needed that back then, but no longer need any of it. Back to NOW.....I like the mature vibe of this forum. No more in-fighting, much more respect for the space of others. And mature does not mean less fun, in my book. |

Akai, I feel the same way about who I was "back then" and who I am now, it's a far cry from there to here! A lot can happen in 4 years time as
you well know! I also understand what you're talking about with having created friends in terms of spirit guides that helped us (re)discover our true
essence and no longer needing any of it! Stepping stones, trail of bread crumbs....that we left our selves. I'm not talking with any of my guides any more,
I don't feel a need to channel for myself or others, it feels so unnecessary any more but for a long time I felt I needed to "connect" as if I
could ever be disconnected! I also thought it wasn't me. hehehe That sounds weird, but I'm leaving it, I know what it means.
Claudie, I really like your new butterfly avatar! Awesome! Akai, your avatar is wonderful with the sunrise in the background and the tree spreading out, it feels like a place I would want to be...a lot like Joy Zone feels to me. Fun and mature, great combo! Love, Barb |

Thank you for mentioning my avatar, guys, I just painted that and it's my first painting. It's still unfinished but I love looking at it.

Wow Claudie, your first painting!!! I just love it, you are very gifted!!! If it looks this good unfinished, I can't wait to see what the finished artwork
will look like! hehe
It has some interesting elements to the design, and I really love the colors too, you are quite creative!!! |

Triple thanks, three times!
My heart is just about to burst. Painting is something I have wanted to do for a long time and my best friend gave me the gift of teaching me what she knows about it. I have always been shy about showing my drawings and art but this is a safe place for me to do so. Thanks for loving the painting as much as I do.
